  Police caution woman for breastfeeding in public!

  i just watched the local bbc news and there was a story about a woman who'd fed her baby while sitting on a public bench.

  she finished and was on her way when a police car drew up beside her and asked her to stop.

  there had been a complaint.

  i watched dr. phil yesterday, where they were highlighting the disappearance of natalee holloway who disappeared in aruba over 5 months ago, and amy bradley who vanished from a cruise ship 7 years ago.

  i always assumed that these girls were raped and then murdered and they very likely could be, but the program highlighted the sex-slave trade that is growing in leaps and bounds all over the world.

  i sat there and listened in shock as one guy revealed what happens to some of these girls during snuff movies.

  Gill, I was only commenting on the USA crime rates. I'm not familar with how the UK works.
  
  Sssh, Katie, I thought we weren't going to discuss our sexual escapades with the entire board. LOL
  
  I'm sure the UK is similar to the USA in respects to the chance of murder, rape and other violent crime. You usually know your attacker. So if you are living in a good neighborhood, don't engage in drug use or distribution, and are not dating strange new men all the time you chances for violent crime are next to nil.
  
  Of course there are exceptions but "generally" speaking this is the case.

  The adjusted rate is for differences in the way things were reported. They changed how things were reported, yet in order to "smooth" the results so they were comparable across the board.

  Did you ever go out in Field Service on Thanksgiving or Christmas morning

  i never had a problem with going door to door except for the holidays.. one, i felt like we were intruding on our neighbors who set aside time be with their loved ones.. two, it just made me feel more different and jealous that i was not celebrating the holidays with my family.. any thoughts?

  I remember going out one Thanksgiving under duress. When the P.O. was talking about showing Jesus' example by going out I raised my hand and asked if Jesus wouldn't have considered that it was not a day conducive to people truly talking and learning about God. Jesus visited the town well etc...and informal witnessed. He didn't shove religion down people's throat. The P.O. made some smart ass answer of "well if they slam the door in your face on a holiday it just shows their true heart condition to be goats, and we have done our part of Jah's service". Made me sick. Never went out after that EVER again on ANY holiday including 4th of July, Xmas, New Year's, etc.

  i know of all the strict dietary laws that g-d imposed on the jews.

  the witnesses always preach about g-d's wisdom.

  like, not eating pork protected his people from parasites.

  How many of the FAS babies did you see that the mother was a raging alcoholic? The FAS babies you saw were from mothers that had 5 glasses of wine during their entire pregnancy right? Yeah, I thought not.

  Society Needs to "Conserve Contributed Funds"

  in another effort to crimp the production of materials, the society is asking jw members to consider reducing their orders of watchtower & awake!

  audio recordings.. at service meetings this week, a letter is read to the congregation:.

  publishers are asked to "conserve contributed funds" by considering which of the 3 formats of audio recording they really need.

  Maybe if they weren't so dead set against education some of the flock might actually do something productive with their lives and earn money, thereby tithing the WTBS. But no...that would mean modernizing their teachings....can't have that can we?

  Here again alarmist propaganda. If a pregnant woman has a glass of wine once a week, the chances of any issues is ludicriously small, and in fact may benefit both anyway.
  
  American's seem to love Puritanical rituals imposed on themselves. For diets they want some magical don't eat / do eat list. For birth they want absolutes. They insure themselves to the hilt to guard against any threat regardless of how small. It's ingrained in our American culture.
